Practical Suggestions from Tradition

Ways to Grow in Devotion

  • Pray DailyInvite Saint Michael as guardian of your soul and body each morning — for protection in temptation, through danger, and for God's grace in your daily work.
  • For Your FamilyEntrust your household, children and loved ones to his protection, and ask him to defend them at the hour of death.
  • The Chaplet of Saint MichaelRecite the nine salutations — one for each angelic choir — with an Our Father and three Hail Marys. This devotion was given by Saint Michael himself to Sister Antonia d'Astonac in 1751.
  • The NovenaPray the Novena for nine consecutive days, naming your own intention — for healing, protection, or the needs of the Church — and trust in his powerful intercession.
  • Keep an Image at HomePlace a small Saint Michael statue or icon in your home as a quiet reminder of his watchful presence over your family.
  • For the Faithful DepartedInvoke his intercession on behalf of the dead, that he may lead them into the holy light promised to the faithful.
The Prayer to Saint Michael
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
— Amen.
This prayer was placed after Low Mass by Pope Leo XIII in 1886. Although the practice ceased in 1964, Pope John Paul II urged the faithful to continue reciting it "to obtain help in the battle against the forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world."
Step 01

Begin with Reverence

Make the Sign of the Cross and quiet your heart. Saint Michael stands ready as a loving protector, not as a distant figure — call on him as a trusted friend.

Step 02

Recite the Prayer

Pray the Prayer to Saint Michael aloud or in silence, offering your family, your home and your work under his protection. You may also add your own intention.

Step 03

Close with Faith

Conclude with the Our Father or an act of trust. Many devotees keep a small image or statue of Saint Michael in their home as a reminder of his watchful presence.

"Holy Michael Archangel, defend us in battle, that we may not perish at the dreadful judgment."
Saint Michael FAQ
FAQ

Common Questions

Which material is better for an outdoor Saint Michael statue? +
Bronze is generally recommended for large outdoor installations due to its strength and weather resistance. It develops a natural patina over time that protects the metal. Marble can also be used outdoors when the stone type and local climate are properly considered, though it requires more maintenance in harsh weather conditions.
Can you make a large or monumental Saint Michael statue? +
Yes. We produce statues from small home pieces to large church and monumental outdoor sculptures in both bronze and marble. Our team has experience creating statues ranging from 2 feet to over 20 feet in height, with proper structural engineering for large installations.
Can I customize the pose, weapon and finish? +
Yes. Pose, wings, armor, sword or spear, defeated figure, pedestal and finish (bronze patina or marble polish) can all be customized. We work closely with clients to ensure the final piece matches their vision and requirements, whether based on traditional iconography or custom designs.
Do you provide statues for churches specifically? +
Yes. Many of our Saint Michael statues are designed and sized specifically for church altars, entrances and courtyards. We understand the liturgical and symbolic requirements for sacred art and can work within your church's architectural style and budget.
What is the difference between bronze and marble statues? +
Bronze offers greater structural strength for dynamic poses and outdoor exposure, with excellent detail capture and durability. It's ideal for dramatic action poses and harsh climates. Marble provides a hand-carved, luminous natural stone finish suited to interior and sheltered settings, offering a classical, timeless aesthetic with natural veining patterns.
Can you reproduce a statue from a photo I provide? +
Yes. Our sculptors can evaluate reference photographs and historical artworks to reproduce or adapt a design for your project. We'll create detailed drawings or 3D models for your approval before beginning production to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.
