For me, this statue carries a powerful message: no matter how long you have suffered in the depths of life, or how lost and helpless you may feel, the love and blessing of Jesus are always with you. Whenever I go through difficult times, I think of this statue. It gives me strength and reminds me that I can find the courage to overcome hardship.

Veiled Christ was sculpted by Giuseppe Sanmartino, who was commissioned by Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero. Di Sangro selected a block of white marble and intended the sculpture to be the centerpiece of the Cappella Sansevero in Naples, Italy.
When I traveled to Italy and saw it in person, I was absolutely astonished that such a masterpiece had been carved entirely by hand. Christ is shown lying on a stone bed beneath a transparent veil made of marble, and even the tiniest thorns woven among the branches are rendered in breathtaking detail.
Sculpted by Giuseppe Sanmartino in the 18th century, the Veiled Christ statue depicts Jesus shrouded in a translucent veil. Known for its incredible detail and emotional impact, it exemplifies Baroque artistry.
Many people who have seen this statue feel that it is not merely a work of human hands, but something closer to a miracle—almost like art shaped by angels.

And Jesus Wept is a monumental sculpture erected across the street from St. Joseph Old Cathedral in 1995 to commemorate the lives lost in the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995, at 9:02 a.m.
In the sculpture, Jesus covers His face with His hand, weeping in the presence of devastation and death. It recalls the shortest verse in the Bible: “Jesus wept.” He wept for the destruction of Jerusalem, for the death of His friend Lazarus, and, in this memorial, for the tragedy of the bombing and for all those who lost their lives in the attack.
